Kevin Harding

CELTA

Hi! I’m Kevin Harding. Before moving into teaching, I had a varied career driving trains, serving as a police sergeant and running my own pub. In 2023, I qualified with CELTA at International House Torquay in the UK and taught there for over three years before moving to Kyiv in September 2026.

BSc (Hons) in Criminology (University of Portsmouth, 2012) and FdA in Policing Practice (City University, 2008).
CELTA (International House Torquay, 2023).
IH professional courses: Teaching One-to-One classes (2024), How to Teach IELTS preparation (2025) and the IH Certificate in Online Teaching (2026). Currently studying towards the DELTA.

The IH standard

Choosing IH Kyiv, you choose teachers vetted by an international network

International House is a network of 130+ schools in 45+ countries with one quality standard. We have been part of it since 1993, and every teacher on this page meets its requirements — not our own opinion, but an external check.

Every teacher holds an international qualificationThe IH network minimum is Cambridge CELTA, Trinity TESOL or IHC. Most of our team also hold DELTA, IHCYLT or CELT-P.
The school is inspected by IH WorldAn inspection takes 2–4 days: lesson observation, student and staff surveys, a review of processes. New schools yearly, then every two to three years.
Teachers are trained hereIH Kyiv is an authorised Cambridge CELTA and DELTA centre. The trainers of our teacher courses — Svitlana Starykova, Tetiana Ivanova, Tetiana Bohutska — teach our groups too.
Groups of up to 10 — smaller than the network normIH recommends no more than 16 students per group. Ours are up to 10, so everyone speaks in every lesson and gets feedback.
