How long does the test take?

60 tasks: 25 in Listening and 35 in Reading. LanguageCert gives the exact session length on the exam page; the exam is taken in one online session.

Do I need to take Speaking and Writing?

No, these are separate modules with separate certificates. Many people start with Listening & Reading and add Speaking and Writing later.

Where is this test taken?

Through Online Live Proctoring: at the scheduled time, you connect from your computer, an administrator checks your identity and room and supervises the exam one-to-one. You need a stable internet connection, a camera and a microphone.

How much does LTE cost?

The LanguageCert website shows the cost during booking and it depends on the country; an IH Kyiv manager can tell you the current amount.

How should I prepare?

Official sample tests are available on the LanguageCert website. At IH Kyiv, we prepare you for LTE individually or in a group: we cover task types and practise business vocabulary and working quickly with texts and audio.

LanguageCert Test of English (LTE) is designed for students before entering the job market and for professionals who need to prove their English for work. The Listening & Reading module is the easiest place to start: no writing or speaking, with the result provided as an international certificate.

Two sections, 60 tasks. All situations come from working life: calls, meetings, emails, announcements and instructions. This test does not include separate Speaking and Writing modules — they can be taken separately.

Who needs LTE Listening & Reading

LanguageCert Test of English (LTE) is designed for students before entering the job market and for professionals who need to prove their English for work. The Listening & Reading module is the easiest place to start: no writing or speaking, with the result provided as an international certificate.

For students before their first jobEmployers trust international certificates more than “English — fluent” on a CV. LTE shows the English needed in an office: emails, conversations and documents.

How to register

Registering for LTE Listening & Reading

Register on the LanguageCert website. After purchase, you have 12 months to choose a date and time; you can choose your native language for the administrator’s organisational part if it is available — this removes unnecessary stress.

Choose the Listening & Reading module
On the LTE page of the LanguageCert website, choose the module and click Book.

Choose the administrator’s language, date and time
Choose the language in which the administrator will conduct the organisational part, then select the day and starting time. The date can be changed later — within the 12-month period.

Create an account and pay
Complete the candidate profile and pay — confirmation and instructions will arrive by email.

Prepare your equipment and practise
Check your computer against LanguageCert’s requirements for online exams. Sample tests are available in the Official preparation material section of the LanguageCert website; at IH Kyiv, we work through them together and practise strategies for each task type.

No. The test is adaptive and always gives a result — from A1 to C2, depending on the number of points scored. Below 10 points, no level is awarded, but you will still see this result in the report.
