Supporting defenders, their families and charity initiatives through education
Since 2014, International House Kyiv has supported defenders with tuition discounts: 50% for service members, 15% for their spouses and children and 30% for half-orphans. All contributions from our annual charity conference go to the Come Back Alive foundation.
What we do
We believe that only through unity, helping one another and constant support for our defenders can we defeat the enemy, defend our sovereignty and protect our European future. We will certainly rebuild our country, and IH Kyiv will continue to support the development of modern education in Ukraine: every client brings us closer to unity with the civilised world through their knowledge and professional growth.
The 50% discount for service members and 15% for their spouses and children applies to regular group courses, not to a separate “social” programme: people study in an ordinary group at their level, with the same teacher and the same materials.
A child who has lost a parent studies in an ordinary group at their level with a 30% discount.
We organise our annual charity conference for English teachers ourselves: our academic team and international speakers work without fees, and we donate all participant contributions in full to the Come Back Alive Foundation. The foundation has operated since 2014 and openly publishes reports on how the funds are used.
Respect for the client
Social responsibility starts not with donations but with fair terms for ordinary students. These rules are the same for everyone — both those receiving subsidised places and those paying the full price.
The cost of every course is published, so there is no need to “find out by phone”. A manager does not raise the price because someone seems interested.
Assessing your English level and having a consultation cost nothing and create no obligations. We do not charge people to tell them where to start.
In addition to their course, every student of any age attends free weekly speaking classes: speaking and grammar programmes for adults, and Friday Fun for children.
The language centre works to international standards and undergoes regular checks by representatives of the IHWO head office in London. If a group is not suitable in terms of level or timetable, we move the student rather than persuading them to endure it.
