Where is this test taken?

At an approved test centre, on paper or on a computer. Unlike LTE Listening & Reading, this test has no from-home online format.

Task completion, grammar and vocabulary at the appropriate level, and the logical organisation of the text. The result is a score from 10 to 100 and a CEFR level.

Are other LTE modules required?

No. Writing is a standalone module with a separate certificate. Listening & Reading and Speaking can be taken separately, in any order.

How much does it cost?

The LanguageCert website shows the cost during booking, and it depends on the country; an IH Kyiv manager can confirm the current amount.

Official sample tasks are available on the LanguageCert website. At IH Kyiv, we work on the structure of business letters, reports and articles, common mistakes and writing speed — with a teacher checking every text.

Who needs LTE Writing

Students and working professionalsLTE is designed for graduates preparing to enter the job market and for professionals. The Writing certificate strengthens your profile in a field where most candidates have no evidence of their written English.
Business English for an international careerThe test assesses writing for workplace situations: emails, messages and short reports. LanguageCert certificates are recognised in different countries and make you more visible to employers.
Certificate with no expiry dateLanguageCert LTE certificates do not expire. After you pass, a digital badge appears in your account for your CV and LinkedIn.

How to register

Registration for LTE Writing

Register on the LanguageCert website. After purchase, you have 12 months to choose a date and time; you can select your native language for the administrative part if it is available.

Choose the Writing module
On the LTE page of the LanguageCert website, choose the Writing module and click Book.

Choose the administrator’s language, date and time
Choose the language for the administrative part, the day and the start time. You can change the date later, within the 12-month period.

Create an account and pay
Complete the candidate profile and pay — confirmation and instructions will be sent by email.

Prepare your equipment and practise
Check your computer against the LanguageCert requirements. Sample tasks are available in the Official preparation material section on the LanguageCert website; at IH Kyiv, we analyse the structure of business letters and reports and give feedback on your texts.
